Educational Qualification
Eligibility is different for each post. Candidates should check the qualification and experience requirements for the particular post before submitting the application.
1. Engineering Officer Grade 1
→ Electrical: First Class B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering with a valid GATE score in the Electrical Engineering paper.
→ Civil: First Class B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with a valid GATE score in the Civil Engineering paper.
Valid GATE scores from 2024, 2025 or 2026 are applicable.
2. Engineering Assistant
→ First Class 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline.
→ Electrical candidates require a Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Technology.
→ Mechanical candidates require a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technology.
→ 5 years of relevant experience is required
3. Scientific Assistant
→ First Class B.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university
→ 5 years of relevant experience is required.
4. Technician Grade 1
→ Electrical: ITI Trade Certificate in Electrical.
→ Mechanical: ITI Trade Certificate in Mechanical.
5. Technical Attendant Grade 1
→ Matriculation/10th pass or equivalent from a recognized Board.
→ A 2-year ITI certificate in Electrical or Mechanical is desirable but not essential.
6. Assistant Grade II
→ First Class Bachelor’s Degree in BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BBM or BCA.
→ Candidates must also have at least a Grade-B Basic Computer Course (BCC) certificate from NIELIT.
→ CPRI specifies that other computer courses are not accepted in place of the NIELIT BCC certificate.
7. MTS Grade 1 – Watch & Ward
→ Matriculation/10th pass or equivalent.
→ All vacancies under this post are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.
Age Limit
The minimum age for the applicable posts is 18 years. The maximum age varies according to the post and is calculated as on 12 October 2026.

Age Relaxation

Selected candidates will be placed in different levels of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, depending on the post.

Exam pattern
The selection process will vary according to the post. Candidates for applicable posts may have to appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill/Trade/Practical Test, wherever prescribed.

→ Engineering Assistant & Scientific Assistant:
CBT + Practical Skill Test.
