→ Engineering Diploma/Degree holders are not eligible under this apprenticeship notification.

Stipend/Salery
Selected candidates will receive a monthly apprenticeship stipend at the rate prescribed under the applicable Apprenticeship Rules/Railway Board instructions.
The 2026–27 notification does not specify a fixed rupee amount, so no specific stipend figure should be assumed from this notification.
Selection Process
There is no written examination and no viva/interview for this recruitment.
The selection process is:
Matriculation Merit → Trade/Unit-wise Merit List → Document Verification → Medical Fitness → Final Engagement
The merit list will be prepared using the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation, with a minimum requirement of 50%. Marks from all subjects will be considered; the official notification does not allow a “best of five” calculation.
Tie-Breaking
If two candidates have the same percentag
→ The older candidate gets preference.
→ If dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier gets preference.
Medical Fitness
Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification must submit the prescribed Medical Fitness Certificate from a Government-authorized Gazetted Doctor not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.
